Tom Thimot Named CEO of CaseCentral
Press release: Leader in eDiscovery Solutions Expands Executive Team to Continue Aggressive Growth in 2008
SAN FRANCISCO – January 7, 2008 – CaseCentral, a leader in delivering eDiscovery solutions to FORTUNE 1000 corporations and the law firms that serve them, today announced that it has strengthened its executive team to support continued market momentum. The company has named Tom Thimot as its new CEO. Founding CEO Chris Kruse continues in his current position of chairman of the board and will remain a full-time active member of the executive team focusing on new business development and helping Thimot expand the market adoption of CaseCentral. The appointment of Thimot is effective immediately.
“Tom is the perfect choice to lead CaseCentral through our next phase of growth,” said Chris Kruse, chairman of the board at CaseCentral. “Tom brings a wealth of business experience and an incredible portfolio of success at both public and private companies. He knows the eDiscovery market and has a strong record of achieving sustainable, profitable growth in the companies he has led. By handing the CEO reins to Tom, I can focus on using my industry connections and experience to increase CaseCentral’s visibility as the thought leader that understands the needs of the evolving legal industry.”
With large enterprises averaging more than 500 legal and regulatory matters every year, and each case requiring that tens of thousands, and even millions of documents be reviewed at a cost of hundreds of dollars per hour, the review process now accounts for about 70 percent of total litigation costs. As fears of a recession rise, companies recognize they cannot afford to have litigation result in significant losses, and they are looking for ways to make eDiscovery more predictable and mitigate risk by putting more intelligent processes in place. CaseCentral, the company that first introduced hosted eDiscovery and a centralized multi-matter repository, is continuing to deliver new technologies that give companies control over the eDiscovery process and can dramatically reduce eDiscovery costs.
Thimot’s technology leadership and executive management accomplishments are widely recognized. Thimot joins CaseCentral directly from Kazeon Systems, the leading eDiscovery Collection provider, where he was responsible for greater than 300 percent annual revenue growth.
Prior to Kazeon, Thimot served as president and CEO at GoRemote Internet Communications, Inc., a NASDAQ public company that was acquired by iPass. Prior to GoRemote, Thimot held the position of executive vice president of worldwide sales, services and customer support for Netegrity, Inc., a NASDAQ public company that was acquired by Computer Associates. Thimot oversaw the creation of double digit growth engines that significantly increased the public valuations of each company.
Thimot also served as the vice president of central U.S. sales at Oracle, where his team grew license revenues from $50 million to more than $250 million in a two-year period. He was also a key leader in the worldwide Oracle applications vertical organization that grew revenues by more than $100 million.
Earlier in his career, Thimot held management and consulting positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Accenture. His education includes a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Marquette University, where he also studied business administration.
“CaseCentral is one of the largest private companies in the eDiscovery market and has a great customer base of Fortune 1000 corporations and top law firms,” said CaseCentral CEO Thimot. “As the industry turns its focus on the increasingly costly review and production process, our clients already know that by establishing a standardized approach to managing litigation with CaseCentral, they will save roughly one third of their annual legal spend. This is a compelling value proposition, and I look forward to leading CaseCentral into a new era of aggressive market expansion.”
