C2C Helps Prepare Enterprises for FRCP Compliance

Press release: Companies Nationwide Anticipate Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP), Expected to Take Effect December 1

SPRINGFIELD, MA — (MARKET WIRE) — November 21, 2006 — C2C customers nationwide breathe a sigh of relief in knowing that their Archive One Discovery solution is FRCP-ready. C2C, a leading provider of e-mail archiving and management solutions, offers its Archive One Discovery Manager product, deliberately designed to assist with the imminent FRCP rule changes expected to take effect at the federal level on December 1, 2006. These new rules require that companies involved in civil litigation must meet within 30 days of the filing of the lawsuit and agree on how to handle electronic data, including emails, and decide which records are to be shared, as well as on a definition for “accessible data.”

C2C’s Archive One Discovery Manager contains features to enhance the ability of Archive One to produce discovery information from within the archive and from within the ‘live’ email stores. This functionality not only reduces the cost associated with e-discovery, but, as of December 1, 2006, will be especially critical as companies involved in civil litigation will now be held accountable for:

– Addressing e-discovery in initial disclosures;
– Providing guidelines regarding electronic discovery;
– Producing emails and electronic documentation;
– Providing responses that incorporate electronic data; and,
– Responding to subpoenas for electronically stored information

With Archive One Discovery, an administrator can now obtain all relevant items easily and quickly when an e-discovery request is made. This process searches all Microsoft Exchange stores as well as data in the indexed archive and deleted items in folders without compromising and permissions.

”In identifying a solution for our e-discovery, it was reassuring to know that C2C’s Archive One is ready for the changes ahead related to FRCP. Particularly in our industry where it is important to find all claim details and verify that email is being used appropriately. This was an investment we could not afford not to make,” says Patrick Harris, Sr. Network Engineer at RSUI Group Inc., a leading underwriter of wholesale specialty insurance.

“The development of Archive One Discovery Manager is reflective of our insight as an organization dedicated exclusively to message management,” said Dave Hunt, C2C’s CEO. “We knew when we designed the product that it would need to withstand the demands of an increasingly complex regulatory environment. With Archive One Discovery, we can offer our customers peace of mind in knowing that they are equipped properly for the FRCP changes.”

Archive One Discovery Manager will be available in early December as part of C2C’s comprehensive Archive One product suite which also includes Compliance Manager to reduce the legal risk associated with e-mail, Policy Manager, which addresses mailbox capacity and e-policy issues and Access Security Manager which protects e-mail systems by auditing and managing access. The Archive One solution is flexible and adaptable to scale from tens to thousands of users and integrates seamlessly with companies’ existing storage hardware and management applications. Users can install and use Archive One quickly and easily with no intervention from outside consultants.
